Eavor-Loop Demonstration Project
This innovative project received federal funding fromNatural Resources Canada’s Clean Growth Programand Sustainable Development Technology Canada, that went toward construction of this demonstration facility.
Eavor-LoopTMleverages ongoing reductions in directional drilling costs. The Eavor-Loop demonstration facility will involve the drilling of two multilateral horizontal wells at a depth of 2400 m which will intercept each other to generate a

Regulatory Assistance
The facility design included:
•
Facility piping between the storage tank outlet and the inlet of the aerial cooler
•
Design of the pipeline between the wellbores
•
1000 bbl heated water storage tank
•
Centrifugal water pump and aerial cooler
•
Power distribution system and PLC Control system
•
Freeze protection, comprising catadyneheater(s) and Electric Heat Tracing (EHT)

large U-tube shaped well and construct an interconnecting pipeline, approximately 2500m in length. The technology is used to create kilometers of hermetically sealed horizontal wellbores buried kilometers below the surface. Techniques are then used to link and configure these wells in such a manner that they directly and effectively harvest heat through closed loop circulation of a benign working fluid.
