Project Engineer EI&C – Calgary
Rangeland Engineering is currently seeking a Project Engineer EI&C for our EP/EPCM/EPC projects in our Calgary office.
This position will be responsible for working with a Project Manager or leading projects independently to provide engineering design and coordination, including vendor packages, in support of various oil and gas related client projects.
This role has the objective of managing and/or coordinating project activities and ensuring the technical feasibility, engineering design to scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, value, timeliness, and Rangeland’s profitability. This position is designed to develop broader project management knowledge and experience. At this level, the role may be as the sole project engineer on a small project with full accountability for the general duties, or engineering on a mid-sized project or more complex segment of a larger project.
You will:
- Perform basic project engineering functions involving monitoring of progress, design reviews, technical advice to clients/vendors/fabricators/constructors, , documentation of communications and meetings, and early identification/evaluation of project issues and problems
- Assist in management and coordination of activities among all project functions and engineering disciplines in accordance with the established project schedule
- Coordinate efforts of technical disciplines, vendors and licensors to ensure integrated and complete designs that meet project requirements and contractual requirements
- Support creation and coordination of overall project budget and schedules, and monitoring activities, progress, and reporting both internally and externally
- Apply rigorous change management procedures to ensure project does not exceed established budget
- Support PM and leadership team on other duties as assigned
You have:
- Emerging Project Management background including:
- Scope and Change Management
- Budget and Schedule Development and Forecasting
- Reporting and Scheduling
- Construction Support
- Minimum 5 years in an EP/EPC/ EPCM environment, construction and/or operations supporting the Oil and Gas industry, including at least 2 years of responsibility as a project engineer
- Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university
- Completion of a diploma or degree in a certified project management program is considered an asset
