Ron Daye, P.Eng.

Founder - 2001

Ron leads by connecting people—clients and team members alike—with opportunities to grow, achieve and ultimately thrive.

Ron is the founder, president, CEO and guiding force behind Rangeland Engineering. He provides the strategic direction that helps us formulate complex client relationships and build better projects.

A veteran leader, he brings more than 35 years of extensive oil and gas experience in project development, design, construction, and commissioning of facilities, including crude transportation by rail and truck, gas plants, NGL recovery, fractionation, power generation, product treating, salt cavern storage, pipelines and refining.

Ron has successfully grown Rangeland Engineering into a multi-discipline, mid-sized engineering service company. With accountability for the overall stewardship and corporate direction of Rangeland, he guides corporate strategy and leads a strong management team.

Ryan Beamin, P.L.(Eng.)

Rangelander Since 2006

As the backbone of Rangeland’s design drafting and project management services, Ryan is instrumental in delivering the information, data and perspectives that help our clients make important decisions.

Ryan leads project teams focused on supporting the entire lifecycle of our projects, including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, feasibility, conceptual and detailed design.

Ryan’s primary career focus has been piping design and project management in the oil and gas industry, and he brings extensive experience in onsite and in-house planning, project scoping and construction support, as well as interdisciplinary management skills. He is also responsible for defining and implementing Rangeland’s overall technology strategy and developing our principal smart 3D modeling software and enterprise relationship program.

Ryan is a trusted leader and problem-solver, skills he has honed over two decades of supporting Rangeland’s most complex and challenging projects. Along the way, Ryan has developed strong relationships with our long-term clients and personnel alike.

Operations Manager

Chet Anand

Rangelander Since 2022

Chet brings value to Rangeland through innovative thinking, a robust technical and engineering background, strategic positioning, and strong business acumen. Energy market is changing and in his Project Management and Business Development role, Chet has a keen interest in promoting Rangeland’s position in the new energies market.  His unique background of process engineering, project management and business are a strong asset to the team.

In his 20 years of energy sector experience, Chet has had the unique opportunity to work on some of the highest ranked capital projects in the world; the three oil and gas development project he worked totaled over $30 billion in value. While his experience has focused primarily in Canada, Chet has managed global delivery teams from centers such as Manila, Chennai, Santiago, Jakarta and Thailand.  

Chet holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT, Roorkee, India, a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Calgary, and an Executive MBA from one of the top ranked programs– UCLA-NUS executive MBA. Chet is a believer in the importance of physical and mental health in the workplace. Being a sports enthusiast, he has run several marathons and loves to play tennis. He is currently a board member for Run Calgary, the organizing committee for Calgary Marathon and an active volunteer with the charity Help Heal Humanity.

Ian Alcorn, P.Eng., PMP

Ian leads Rangeland’s electrical, instrumentation & controls team with hands-on involvement to ensure the team’s output is safe, accurate, constructable and is appropriate for the specific client or project needs.

He brings a wealth of experience, much of which is gained from large-scale multi-discipline projects across a number of different industries, which has provided him with a solid grounding in engineering project delivery and exposure to worldwide best practices.

His industry experience includes the recovery, processing and transportation of conventional and heavy oil, offshore oil and gas, natural gas and natural gas liquids as well as power generation and cogeneration, nuclear fuel manufacturing and shipbuilding.

Together with the other discipline engineering leads, Ian has helped develop Rangeland’s quality management system, with particular focus on technical compliance, the procurement cycle and exceeding requirements and expectations of clients, site constructors and module fabricators.

Ian holds a Bachelor of Engineering from The Queen’s University of Belfast (1987).

EI&C Engineering Manager

Zahid Maqsood, P.Eng., M.Eng.

As process lead, Zahid is professional engineer responsible for conceptual, FEED and detailed process design, EPCM activities, field operations and facility support for grass root and revamp projects. He combines his expertise in conceptualizing basic and detailed engineering design with an experienced eye for cost savings.

In a career spanning more than three decades, Zahid has worked throughout Asia, Europe and North America, designing complex projects in the oil and gas sector. He brings a wide breadth of experience in both onshore and offshore natural gas, light oil, heavy oil, in situ and oil sands upstream oil and gas projects.

He also has extensive experience in NGL facilities, fractionation plants, pipeline gathering systems, petrochemicals and oil-and-gas midstream and upstream projects. He has worked in operations as well as supervised process plant commissioning, providing him with a unique perspective that consistently adds value for his clients.

Zahid holds a Masters in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering (2005) from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore, Pakistan (1991).

Process Engineering Manager

Ghulam Mustafa, P.Eng., M.Eng.

As mechanical lead, Ghulam is involved in conceptual design, FEED, detailed engineering design and construction support. His experience spans a wide variety of projects, from revamping to debottlenecking to large-size green field projects.

Ghulam has worked for more than 21 years as a mechanical engineer in oil and gas, petrochemical and manufacturing. He has held progressive leadership positions as intermediate and senior mechanical engineer lead on various projects in NGL, heavy oil production for oil sands and SAGD, gas plants, pipelines and pump stations. He effectively manages multiple engineering project milestones and deliverables while managing risk and ensuring quality standards are always met. He puts his natural leadership abilities to work, continuously cultivating learning opportunities for his team members while volunteering as a mentor for those just getting into the industry.

Ghulam holds a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (2010) from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the NED University of Engineering and Technology in Pakistan (1999).

Pat Romerman, P.Eng.

Civil/Structural Engineering Manager

Pat is committed to building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues, taking the time to understand their unique needs. He is a skilled team player who is able to bring together his team to solve the most complex challenges.

Pat brings more than twenty-seven years of civil/ structural engineering experience in buildings, industrial complexes, oil and gas facilities, refineries and construction. As a recognized leader in heavy concrete design, he brings an industry-unique skillset and innovative structural solutions to our clients.

As assistant manager of engineering, he oversees the design and detailing of oil and gas structural building components using steel and concrete. He works closely with his clients and other design disciplines throughout the project lifecycle, establishing and maintaining long-lasting relationships and mentoring young up-and-comers.

Pat holds a Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering from the University of Calgary (1987) and a Diploma of Technology (Honours) in Civil Engineering Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (1982).

Karen Bieraugel, B.Sc, CPA, CGA

An effortless multi-tasker, Karen thinks strategically, negotiates fiercely and applies her eagle eye to every detail she touches.

As procurement manager, Karen directs a team of buyers, expediters and quality assurance personnel on domestic and international projects ranging in size from $1 million to over $400 million. As a skilled team leader with over 20 years of experience, she works closely with her colleagues in all disciplines providing procurement support throughout engineering, fabrication, construction and commissioning.

 

Karen is a Chartered Professional Accountant who studied at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (1999), and she holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Calgary (1991).

Bronwyn Daye, MBA

As Manager of Corporate Services, Bronwyn oversees Rangeland’s human resources and ensures continuous improvement of Rangeland’s culture. She relentlessly ensures that Rangeland stays focused on our most important resources—our culture, our values, and our people.

She plays a pivotal role in handpicking the best talent for our teams and ensures that Rangeland’s workforce supports our business needs. Bronwyn is also our corporate culture champion and works hard to align Rangeland’s working environment with the values of its people. She also oversees the growth of Rangeland’s philanthropic initiatives and provides direction to all our community development.

Bronwyn holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Acadia University, Wolfville (2004) and an MBA from Schiller International University, Paris (2011).

Nelson Kroeker, P.Eng., MBA

Meet Nelson, an agile critical thinker with a wealth of knowledge and experience that enriches the Rangeland team. His engineering background brings a deeper understanding to the estimating process and our clients’ businesses so he can consistently deliver solutions.

With 15 years of experience in the energy sector, Nelson has successfully tackled projects of all sizes, from managing $500k initiatives to leading the estimation efforts of a $30+ Billion project. His ability to provide creative solutions to complex problems has made him a highly regarded professional in his field.

Nelson earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University in 2009, and in 2019, he further honed his skills and expertise by completing an Executive MBA from the University of Calgary.

With a passion for innovation and a dedication to delivering strategic value, Nelson is committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the energy sector. His proactive approach and creative problem-solving abilities make him an asset to any project he undertakes.

Estimating Manager

Jason Pocherewny

Rangelander since 2013

Jason is a strong designer and a trusted partner, working closely with colleagues in other disciplines to consistently produce solutions that exceed our client and project expectations. He brings a strong commitment to quality control and a natural ability to develop and allocate resources to every project he supports.

With 25 years of experience in the drafting design area of the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical industries, Jason is well versed in leading projects, regulatory standards, and CAD design software. He has a strong industry understanding coming from a wide range of projects.

As a design lead, Jason oversees and organizes design teams for projects of all sizes. He excels in complete project delivery, ranging from early project planning to engineering support throughout construction and commissioning. Jason also interfaces with site personnel and project teams to produce successful deliverables. Viewing each project as an opportunity to grow, he supports his colleagues to further expand their skills while cultivating lasting client relationships along the way.

Sandy Riediger

Sandy is a fierce Rangeland advocate. She plays a key role matching the right people with the right opportunity across our organization, a skill that she has honed supporting countless business development proposals, promoting Rangeland at conferences, and coordinating our community engagement activities.

An expert planner, Sandy is passionate about organizing and executing company and client events. A proud Rangelander who takes personal pride in our strong culture, Sandy makes it her mission to incorporate teambuilding and charity goals into every event she executes.

Sandy is an effortless multi-tasker and the glue that binds Rangeland. She expertly manages dynamic scheduling, escalates priorities and nurtures long-lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

Sandy works closely with our CEO and President and liaises with colleagues and clients, keeping the communication between all levels flowing while maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion.

Sandy has more than 20 years of experience as an executive assistant, project administrator and event planner particularly in engineering and oil and gas industries. She honed her client service skills as a team manager and consumer credit specialist in the financial lending industry. A consummate team player, Sandy keeps things organized, prioritized and on-track.
